A native of Shiprock, New Mexico where his heritage is Navajo and Ute, Oreland Joe has become a highly recognized sculptor in the American Southwest of Indian figure subjects. Joe is a longtime member of the Cowboy Artists of America who, being of Navajo and Ute descent, is committed to portraying the ways and traditions of his people.
