Three-strand fetish necklace by Zuni Pueblo artist David Tsikewa. This beautiful necklace consists of 73 birds and 12 animals for a total of 85 fetishes.  It is strung with handmade natural Santo Domingo shell heishi.  A wonderful collectible necklace!!  This beautiful necklace was purchased from Don Hoel in the 1960’s.  David Tsikewa Zuni Fetish Necklace

Master jeweler, David Tsikewa lived and worked at Zuni Pueblo from about 1940 until his passing in 1970.  He is known for his mosaic inlay jewelry, his fetish necklaces and his free standing fetishes.  His wife Mary, was the daughter of another master artist, Teddy Wehkee.
