These dramatic turquoise jacla earrings were made by Hopi artist, Sonwai/Verma Nequatewa. Sonwai finished 6″ long vintage turquoise heishi with tufa cast 18Kt Gold. The artist hand carved the spiny oyster shell corns to finish at the bottom. Sonwai Turquoise Jacla Earrings 18kt Gold
Verma began working with her uncle, the late Charles Loloma, in the mid-1960’s and continued working with him until his studio closed in the early 1990’s.
