Native American Hopi Carved Hemis Kachina by Allen Joshevama. His elaborate headdress is called a tableta. It is painted with phallic and cloud symbols and is finished with feathers. He wears a kilt and greenery around his waist. The Hemis appears in the Home Dance or Niman Ceremony. Measuring 13″ tall, this Hemis Kachina is a wonderful example of a fine young Hopi artist’s work.
