One piece Kachina has Male and Female Owl “Mongwa” Kachinas carved out of the base by Hopi Artist Aldrick Mooya. The base has a pueblo and running water from the top to the side. Very nice motion and and carving.
Aldrick Mooya was born in 1977 to the Greasewood Clan in Kykotsmovi (Third Mesa) and he began carving in the 1990s. Aldrick is the grandson of Alban Mooya Sr. When Aldrick was only 19-years-old, he won the coveted Best of Division and 1st Place ribbons at the Heard Show in Phoenix, AZ. Aldrick is a very good, young carver and “…I want to keep my Hopi ways going and pass it on.”
