Product Description

Perfect Kachina for this time of year, this Koyala Kachina is holding a whole turkey over his head as a cat begs for it.  It is Titled simply, “Koyala” and was hand carved by Hopi artist, Ted Pavatea.  I especially love the way the headdress is laid down on the back of his head.

Ted is the son of Tewa-Hopi potter Garnet Pavatea and was born in 1952 in the Village of Hano at Hopi.  He is a favorite carver of ours as his Kachinas always make us smile.
