Product Description
This Koshare Clown Kachina by Richard Gorman is a happy fellow. He has jeans shorts on and a medicine bag around his neck. Measuring 10″ tall, he is a wonderful example of Richard’s carving and painting abilities and his humor.
Richard was born in 1962 in Keams Canyon, Arizona and raised on First Mesa, Polacca, Arizona. His mother, Clara Pahoema, is Hopi and his father, Bobby Gorman, is Navajo. He is considered more Hopi than Navajo as both Navajo and Hopi are a matriarchal society. Richard’s work is influenced by both his Hopi and his Navajo cultures. He is both a painter and a Kachina carver excelling at both. Better know for his paintings though, he is more prolific in that medium and relies on it for a more consistent source of income.
