Alvin Yellowhorse learned the art of silverwork from his father Frank Yellowhorse. Since then he has become a master of cutting small stones for his intricate inlay which is a process of cutting the stones, assembled and then ground flush before polishing. His contemporary designs have Zuni, Anasazi, Hopi and traditional Navajo influence.
