This five-strand fetish necklace by Zuni Pueblo artist Lavina Tsikewa features finely carved turquoise, coral, mother of pearl, abalone, jet, serpentine, coconut shell, cameo shell and pipestone birds and bears. Strung with Santo Domingo heishi, it is finished with a Handmade Sterling Silver Cones, Hook and Eye.  Circa early 1970’s, this beautiful necklace was purchase from Don Hoel’s Fine Indian jewelry in 1974.

Lavina Tsikewa is the daughter of David Tsikewa from Zuni Pueblo.  When you look at her and her father’s fetishes, you will notice how finely carved and finished they are.  The materials they used were always the finest quality.
