Handmade Pixie green turquoise Rondell beads with handmade silver cones and chain, by artist Cheryl Yestewa. The beads are finished with hand-carved Spiny Oyster shell corns.
Cheryl Yestewa was born May 20th, 1958. She is half Hopi and half Navajo. Cheryl had been making jewelry for many years and always used the finest quality turquoise and other stones. She was very interested in stones, particularly high-grade natural turquoise and was completely self-taught. Her beads are all hand carved and polished. It is very hard work as the natural stones that she uses are very difficult to hand polish. There are not many artists who hand-carve natural beads so Cheryl was and is highly respected for this work. Sadly, Cheryl Marie Yestewa passed away February 1st, 2019.
