Barbara and Joseph Cerno are arguably the best potting team from Acoma Pueblo.  Joseph and his wife Barbara are recognized for their coil method thin walled pottery.  Using traditional methods to build their pottery and clay from Acoma Pueblo, their pottery is then smoothed, slipped with white clay and then painted with natural clay paints.  They slip and polish a pot six to eight times with white clay to achieve the color they desire before then painting putting a lot of time into getting it very white.
