This charming Koyala Kachina has a fishing pole and a fish on the end of it.  It was hand-carved and painted by Hopi Artist, Ted Pavatea.  He seems to be working hard to land the fish and is having a great time!  It is Titled, Koyala Tewa and signed by Ted.  Ted Pavatea Fishing Koyala Kachina

Ted is the son of Tewa-Hopi potter Garnet Pavatea and was born in 1952 in the Village of Hano at Hopi.  He is a favorite carver of ours as his Kachinas always make us smile.
