Product Description

Wonderful Green Snail Corn Maiden Fetish, by Zuni Pueblo artist, Faye Quandelacy.

Faye Quandelacy (1958-2022) was an internationally renowned Zuni fetish carver who graduated from the Institute of American Indian Arts in Santa Fe, where she studied under Allan Houser. Her sought-after artwork was sold at shows and galleries around the world..  She pioneered a unique style of maiden carvings and passed down the craft, which she learned from her mother Ellen Quandelacy, to her daughter Talia Quandelacy, who carries on the family’s artistic legacy to this day. From and extremely talented family, Faye is survived by her siblings Andres, Sandra, and Stewart, and by Talia, who she loved until the very end.
