Product Description
This is a beautiful Sterling Silver lady’s cuff bracelet with stamp, chisel and file work in heavy-gauge silver by award-winning Navajo jewelry artist and silversmith, Jennifer Curtis. Bracelet measures 5-1/8″ inside with a 1-1/8″ opening.
Jennifer describes the difficult and time consuming process to make these heavy bracelets:
“I lay out the design on heavy square wire while it’s still flat. I then stamp where I need and chisel the lines on all sides. I bend the thick silver wire on a metal shaft by hand. I then file the design with a regular rectangular metal file, which is hours of labor. It’s very difficult to bend the thick silver and can bruise my hand if I hit it in the wrong area. I filed the bottom part of the bracelet before bending, it’s easier this way.”
